Other award shows aren’t like the Game Awards. It’s more of a marketing platform than a celebration of the year’s top games. Sure, there are golden statues to be won, but the show’s major draw is that it contains exclusive game announcements. More than 50 titles were nominated for this year’s Game Awards, including some big shocks.

Sonic Frontiers and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are two new Sonic games.

At the show, Sonic fans got a double dose of news. First and foremost, we finally got a glance at the blue blur’s upcoming game, which was announced earlier this year. Sonic Frontiers is a first-of-its-kind open-world game in the Sonic franchise. It actually looks like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, to use an old cliché. It will be released during the holiday season of 2022.

Star Wars Eclipse is a new game by Quantic Dream

The long-awaited sequel to Alan Wake is finally here. Apart from the titular Alan Wake standing on a gloomy street, the teaser clip didn’t reveal much. Unlike the original, which was an action game, this one will be a survival horror game. It’ll debut in 2023, and we won’t learn anything more until next summer.

Elden Ring makes a grand appearance

Among Us comes to VR

Elden Ring received a new trailer during the program after earning the title for Most Anticipated Game for the second year in a row. The cinematics was widely employed in the story-driven clip. It begins with a four-armed woman speaking, followed by a presentation of the game’s characters and lore. It concludes with a massive foe with two swords preparing to assault the game’s protagonist.

When it comes to virtual reality, we have Among Us.

Among Us, the night’s most unlikely story is coming to virtual reality. Players will be able to put on a headset and enjoy killing their pals in virtual space in this indie social deduction game. Currently, it appears that just the Skeld map will be playable in VR format. The VR version does not yet have a release date, but it will work with PS VR, Meta Quest 2, and Valve Index.

.Dune finally returns to the video game world

Dune is finally getting a new video game after a popular film adaptation. The first Dune video game since 2001 is Dune: Spice Wars. Finally, some gameplay was shown in the trailer, which featured members of the team sprinting around a metropolis and kicking the snot out of aliens. The Flash made a cameo appearance in it, which was notable. The game will be released in 2022 and will not be available on previous-generation consoles.

Hellblade 2 gets a cinematic gameplay trailer

To kick off the presentation, a new gameplay trailer for Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga was released. It began with a grand cinematic scene before seamlessly transitioning to gameplay.
