Hubtel Appoints Cornelis Rouloph Otoo as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs.

Hubtel has hired Cornelis Rouloph Otoo as Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs. Cornelis is a seasoned lawyer who has gained expertise working in diverse sectors and businesses in Ghana, including banking and finance, securities, real estate, mining, and information technology and telecommunications.

He developed his experience in corporate and commercial concerns, commercial transactions, and regulatory affairs after being hired by Oxford & Beaumont Solicitors shortly after graduating from law school. He took up a Legal Manager job at the Ghanaian office of worldwide telecommunications giant, Airtel, after rising to senior associate at the firm and was keen to fuel a never-ending interest in the confluence of law and technology. He was in charge of the company’s commercial portfolio.

Cornelis received the coveted Chevening Scholarship to pursue a Master’s Degree at the Queen Mary University of London while at Airtel. Following graduation, he joined Ashong Benjamin and Associates, where he was part of a team that offered legal assistance and advice to the banking industry, which was experiencing significant change at the time. Cornelis has also taught Intellectual Property as an adjunct lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Cornelis is well-positioned to give thorough guidance with different views, having provided legal consulting services as a private practitioner and in-house counsel. He is passionate about the advancement of fintech and technical solutions in general. Cornelis is also double as Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee.
