The National Communications Authority (NCA) has approved Space X Starlink Gh Ltd, the operator of Starlink Satellite Broadband to provide Satellite Broadband services in Ghana.
The NCA announced through an official statement on April 25th, the approval of the satellite licensing application, following the policy approval of Ghana’s satellite licensing framework by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization. “The administrative processes towards the issuance of the license will be completed shortly”, the statement added.
The acquisition of a significant stake in Ghana’s telecommunications infrastructure by foreign entity underwent thorough scrutiny to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and assess its potential to improve service delivery and innovation in the industry.
