If you thought Apple was done releasing products for the year, think again because the tech giant is planning one more big bang to end 2020.

Rumours had been circulating in the tech space that Apple was planning to release a pair of headphones to complement their popular AirPods TWS lineup, and finally, that has become a reality.

The brand new Apple AirPods Max will officially launch on December 15th at an eye-watering premium price of $549. Apple has promised that they will feature “incredible high-fidelity audio, Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, and spatial audio” which has become staples of the buds lineup.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said, “AirPods are the most popular headphones in the world, beloved for their effortless setup, incredible sound quality, and iconic design. With AirPods Max, we are bringing that magical AirPods experience to a stunning over-ear design with high-fidelity audio. The custom acoustic design, combined with powerful H1 chips, and advanced software enable AirPods Max to use computational audio to wirelessly deliver the ultimate personal listening experience.”

The headphones are equipped with a 40mm driver and Apple’s H1 chip to deliver a rich sound with huge frequency response across the spectrum. It remains to be seen if Apple can justify the $549 price tag for these headphones with all the fancy bells and whistles they have put inside it.
