A an event in San Francisco, Instagram announced it will begin allowing users to upload videos up to one hour in length, up from the previous one-minute limit. And to house the new longer-form videos from content creators and the general public, Instagram is launching IGTV. Accessible from a button inside the Instagram homescreen, as well as a standalone app.
With IGTV, Instagram is doing somethings different. It was built for phones so you will always get full screen and vertical videos which of course is the normal way we all use our phones. And unlike on Instagram, videos here have to be between 15sec to 60mins. You see content from Creators you already follow on Instagram and others you might like based on your interests. You can swipe up to discover more — switch between “For You,” “Following,” “Popular” and “Continue Watching.” You can also like, comment and send videos to friends in Direct. Most times the videos start playing as soon as the app opens.
Just like Youtube, IGTV also has channels but then in this case the Creators are the channels and anytime you follow a Creator on Instagram, their channel will show up for you to watch. And Oh! you can also create a channel. With this Instagram is saying everyone can be a Creator. So yeah go and be creative or get entertained by other Creators.
You can either upload using your phone or your PC. But hey try out these apps and let me know what you think😉😉.
