MTN Ghana Declared PR Organisation Of The Year For The Fifth Consecutive Time At The National PR And Communications Excellence Awards

MTN Ghana has won two important honors at the National PR and Communications Excellence Awards, which were held in Akosombo as part of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana’s National PR and Communications Summit and AGM.

For the fifth year in a row, MTN was named PR Organization of the Year, and for the third year in a row, it was named Best Community Relations Programme of the Year.

MTN Ghana was awarded for implementing strong public relations techniques to connect its stakeholders digitally, particularly during COVID-19.

Stakeholders in the business were well-informed, educated, and empowered with information on how to use technology to work, transact business, and keep connected with friends and family during the pandemic through efficient communication and engagement.

MTN Ghana was also named the winner of the Best Community Relations Program of the Year award. During the fiscal year under review, the company gave critical support to the National COVID Trust Fund, presented PPEs to hospitals around the country, and engaged in community upliftment projects aimed at easing the hardships that COVID 19 restrictions posed to people’s livelihoods.

MTN Ghana’s Senior Manager for Corporate Communications, Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, accepted the prizes and thanked the IPR Awards Committee and the PR community for the honor. “The team and I am grateful for the accolades,” she stated. This will motivate us to work harder and continue to communicate with our stakeholders using best practices.”

Mr. Selorm Adadevoh, MTN Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, thanked Georgina and the Corporate Communications team on their excellent use of technology and public relations techniques to ensuring that all stakeholders of the business were contacted throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Congratulations to the team for outstanding support of public relations campaigns that have positively influenced and enriched the organization’s image,” he said.

MTN Ghana has previously received numerous accolades from the Institute of Public Relations, including PR Organization of the Year, Best Community Relations Programme of the Year, Best in Crisis and Issues Management, and Best in Non-Profit Organization.

The IPR Excellence Awards are designed to honor and recognize the accomplishments and positive contributions of individuals and businesses in the delivery of services. In addition, the awards program was established to enhance professionalism in the practice of public relations in Ghana.
