Good News!!! MyGhQR.com Makes Bank-To-Bank Transfers Instant

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Recently, it was revealed that Hubtel, Ghana’s largest payments service provider, in Accra introduced myGhQR.com, a direct bank-to-any-account contactless payment service, in conjunction with the Ghana Interbank Payments and Settlement Systems (GhIPPS).

MyGhQR.com is Ghana’s first self-service facility that permits direct bank-to-bank transfers, according to a statement made accessible to BizTech Africa.
The service, according to the company, eliminates the need to pay with checks, use a POS card machine, or display one’s bank account details in order to receive payments into a bank account, and instead requires users to generate their GHQR code on www.myGHQR.com, display it at any point of payment, and be paid instantly into their accounts.

“Anyone (companies, small merchants, and mobile money users) can receive payments from bank clients that have GHQR on their bank app,” according to the statement.

In a statement, Hubtel’s Head of Products, Patrick Asare-Frimpong, stated, “For the first time, we have a self-service platform that enables businesses and mobile money users of all types to produce a unique GHQR Code, link it to your account, and accept payments quickly from GHQR users.” By scanning a QR code from your bank’s app, you can pay anyone with a bank account. Simply said, this is a game-changer.

The launch of myGhQR.com comes after attempts to make Ghana’s Universal Quick Response (QR) camera scan & pay service one of the regular means of payment for customers and businesses of all sizes.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia unveiled the GHQR payment gateway in March 2020 to complement Ghana’s existing electronic payment channels as part of the country’s greater cash-lite plan. Ecobank, GCB Bank, Fidelity Bank, Calbank, and GT Ban are among the banks that have included GHQR in their smartphone apps since its inception. Customers that utilize these bank apps can pay a related company or merchant by just scanning a GHQR code.

It is completely free to create a QR code. This makes generating a GHQR code very simple for everyone.
By visiting www.myGHQR.com, businesses, everyday service providers, and others can generate their own unique QR codes to receive payments into their bank accounts.

With the launch of myGHQR.com, anyone with a bank account or mobile money will be able to quickly generate, print, and display their own GHQR on any material to get fast payment at industry standard rates of 1% capped at GHS 10 for the largest transactions.
