MTN Ghana has won three honours at the Project Management Institute’s first Project Management Excellence Awards, held in Sogakope, Volta Region (PMI).
MTN Ghana received three prizes in the categories below:
1 Organization of the Year for Project Management
2 Company of the Year in Telecom
3 Daniel Oppong-Koduah, Project Manager of the Year
The award ceremony took place following the institute’s annual National Project Management Conference, which brought together technical experts, policymakers, technology researchers, and industry titans from a variety of industries to discuss the theme of “Transforming Businesses through Project Management and Digitalization.”
At the inaugural Project Management Excellence Awards, institutions and individuals who demonstrated project excellence and value solutions in whatever form were recognized.
Selorm Adadevoh, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, complimented the MTN team on their achievements. “I am inspired by the team’s commitment to ensuring that all MTN projects adhere to worldwide Project Management Standards,” he stated. Congratulations on the honours.”

Mr William Tetteh, who accepted the honours on behalf of MTN Ghana, thanked the institute for the recognition. “As a responsible corporation, MTN ensures that best practices are always employed in managing the numerous initiatives the organization undertakes,” he said. MTN has invested in its workforce over the years to ensure that they have the necessary capabilities to carry out all MTN Ghana initiatives in accordance with international standards.”
MTN was named Project Management Organization of the Year for its consistent use of sound strategy and best project management techniques across all of its projects. MTN was named Telecom Company of the Year for consistently good project management over the years, while Mr Daniel Oppong-Koduah was named Project Manager of the Year for completing all projects on time.
The Project Management Institute is the world’s largest not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to project management. The PMI establishes industry standards for doing research and offers education, certification, and professional exchange opportunities to help the profession grow and thrive.
