Vivo finally adopts wireless charging with new X70 Pro Plus flagship

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Vivo X70 series is the company’s newest line of flagship phones. It sees the business expand its photographic cooperation with famous lens company Zeiss while also improving the blueprint set by the X50 and X60 phones from the previous year or so.

The X70 Pro Plus is the top-of-the-line handset, with a Snapdragon 888 Plus engine, a 6.783-inch 1440p OLED screen (yep, that’s the official spec), and a 4,500mAh battery with Vivo’s 55W FlashCharge technology. It also offers 50W wireless fast charging that is compatible with Qi.

This is Vivo’s first phone to offer wireless charging, making it a more appealing alternative for those who have already installed Qi chargers throughout their home.

A 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel gimbal-stabilized ultrawide, a 12-megapixel telephoto, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto make up the Zeiss-branded camera array on the X70 Pro Plus. Distagon, Planar, and Sonnar are three new simulated bokeh modes based on the optical qualities of vintage Zeiss glass that Vivo has incorporated.

The Pro Plus also features the Imaging Chip V1, a new Vivo-designed image processor that improves noise reduction and motion compensating capabilities.

The X70 Pro and X70 include 6.56-inch 120Hz displays, Mediatek Dimensity 1200 CPUs, and 44W FlashCharge, but no wireless charging. The camera system of the X70 Pro reduces the ultrawide to 12 megapixels, while the X70’s triple array has a 40-megapixel primary sensor and two 12-megapixel sensors.

The X70 series is “gradually rolling out in areas like India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, and more” from today, according to Vivo. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available; the X70 Pro Plus, in particular, appears to be a fascinating device.
