The second edition of Huawei Ghana’s National Ambassadors Awards ceremony was conducted to celebrate and recognize the work that the company’s ambassadors put in over the last year, contributing to the company’s success.
The virtual event, which took place on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, recognized instructors and students in a variety of award categories for their contributions in assisting Huawei Ghana in fulfilling its promise to H.E. By 2024, Nana Akufo-Addo plans to train 10,000 Ghanaians in ICT.
Dr. Boakye Agyemang, HOD of the Koforidua Technical University’s Computer Science Department, praised Huawei for its support, which has increased the school’s IT department’s capabilities since 2019. So far this year, the University has been able to train 600 students and certify 101 others in this manner.

He mentioned the university’s plans to launch AI studies, with the goal of certifying 500 people by the end of the next training and examination cycle. He also mentioned that plans to merge Huawei ICT Academy courses into its core University program were well advanced.
Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, Director of CVET, stated in his submission that due to the breadth of the courses, efforts are being made by the commission — in collaboration with Huwaei — to ensure that Huawei ICT Academy courses are included in the standard curriculum at all universities across the country.
Mr. Julius Ludu of the University of Ghana was presented with the Overall Best Instructor Award certifying over 150 students and being the first instructor to introduce a security course.
Mr. Daniel Ngala of GCTU, Mr. Mensah Sitti of UMAT, Mr. Elvis Yeboah of KNUST, and Mr. Attah Opoku of Regent University College.
Kwesi Manful of KTU, Abigail Abakah-Mensah of UMAT, and Robert Akromod of GCTU were adjudged overall for outstanding performances.
This was awarded to student ambassadors in the various participating universities who excelled in target delivery by going out of their way to get their fellow students registered, trained, and certified in the courses.
This was awarded to Kwesi Manful, Gabby Nyi, and McLutterodt Tawiah.
Joshua Eyram Wordey, Randel Dzakatey, and Redeemer Ntumy.
Enoch Lamptey, and Jeffrey Armah.
Robert Akromod, and Sandies Oduro.
Osei Bonsu Junior, Pamela Appiah, and Isaac Ageebeah.
Abigail Abakah Mensah, Theodosia Ayi-Annum, Emmanuela Dadzie, and Princess Elorm are the awardees.
Anaafi Raphael, Suzanna Anafo, and Roger Wienner were the awardees. Their achievement was noteworthy as they were able to certify 43 students even though their school started late.
The awardees are Owusu Gustav, Richard Gamah, Lily Dzamesi, and Lattiff Idrisu.
This was awarded to students who scored the highest marks in the course.
Esi Cobblah of KNUST, Edem Amevor of UG, Benjamin Abbey of GCTU, and Samuel Doe of All Nations University came out tops in this category.
Sharing his experience with the program during his speech, Mr. William Aganjiba of the University of Mines and Technology intimated how wonderful it as been so far. He spoke of the journey, through the training of the instructors first, who in turn later transferred that knowledge to their students.
He congratulated the award winners, and thanked Huawei for its commitment toward the initiative and encouraged students to take part in Huawei ICT academy training courses to be abreast with technology in its latest form.
