Realme has teased the Realme Flash, which it claims will be the first Android phone to use magnetic wireless charging. Realme is adopting a somewhat different approach with the initial hardware, while it appears to be the company’s take on Apple’s MagSafe mechanism for the iPhone 12 range.
Realme will produce a magnetic wireless charger called MagDart, which will be significantly bigger than Apple’s MagSafe puck, according to GSMArena and The Verge. Charging speeds are touted to be faster than MagSafe’s 15W, making it the world’s quickest magnetic charger. However, the gadget is substantially thicker and requires an active cooling fan.
According to Gizmochina, Realme is also working on a thinner MagDart charger that resembles Apple’s MagSafe puck.

The Realme Flash, according to GSMArena, will be a flagship phone with a Snapdragon 888 chipset. According to a leaked render, at least one model will contain 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. The Verge has learned from sources familiar with Realme’s plans that it will most likely be announced next week.
Realme has never featured wireless charging in any of its phones, but it does sell Qi wireless chargers that work with headphones. After focusing on the proprietary VOOC wired fast-charge mechanism, which was also adopted as Dash Charge in various OnePlus phones, it took many years for sister company Oppo to use the technology.
