Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Xealth, a leading digital health platform that integrates a wide range of health tools and care programs for both patients and providers. This strategic acquisition marks a significant step forward in Samsung’s transformation into a connected care leader, uniting wellness and medical care through seamless, preventative health solutions.

By combining Samsung’s innovation in wearable technology with Xealth’s advanced healthcare integration platform, the acquisition paves the way for a more holistic, real-time approach to health. It aims to eliminate data silos between everyday wellness tracking and clinical records—offering both individuals and healthcare providers a more complete, contextual picture of patient health.

Advancing a Unified Health Ecosystem

Samsung continues to push the boundaries of digital health innovation, with significant investments in sensor technology and wearable devices designed to support wellbeing throughout the day and night. Through its robust ecosystem of connected home devices, Samsung is uniquely positioned to personalize healthcare experiences and connect health tools in meaningful ways.

The integration of Xealth will serve as a cornerstone of Samsung’s “care-at-home” vision, allowing for better coordination between health systems, patients, and Samsung’s technology. The synergy will empower healthcare providers to make smarter, faster decisions, while patients benefit from continuous engagement and proactive care.

About Xealth

Originally spun out of the Providence Health System, Xealth consolidates various digital health solutions into a single, user-friendly platform. Its system acts as an orchestration layer, enabling hospitals to manage, filter, and apply health data effectively. Xealth currently supports a network of over 500 U.S. hospitals, including major institutions like Advocate Health and Banner Health, and works with more than 70 digital health partners—all of which stand to benefit from integration with Samsung’s global platform.

Executive Commentary

“Samsung aims to improve health outcomes for all by combining our advanced technologies with open collaboration,” said TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “Acquiring Xealth strengthens our commitment to building a connected care ecosystem that supports both digital health partners and providers.”

“We’re thrilled to join Samsung in this shared mission,” said Mike McSherry, CEO of Xealth. “By aligning the real-time data from consumer wearables with clinical systems, we can close critical gaps and enable more meaningful, actionable insights for healthcare providers. Together, we’ll help bridge the divide between home health and hospital care.”

Looking Ahead

With this acquisition, Samsung is poised to expand its health ecosystem to include more hospitals and solution providers, delivering hyper-personalized, preventative care on a global scale. The deal is expected to close in 2025, pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
