The Huawei Nova 8 is the Huawei Nova 8 5G’s non-5G counterpart. When comparing the two cell phones, it becomes clear that both have a high rate of reminiscences. The main difference is that the 4G Nova 8 is powered by the Kirin 820E CPU, and the 5G Nova 8 is powered by the Kirin 985 5G processor.

Display and Design

The pattern bears the most striking resemblance of all. The Huawei Nova 8 sports a chassis that is similar to that of its 5G brother. The only difference is that the color options are different Powder Pink is the only colour option here, as opposed to Black, Blue, and Green on its 5G sister.

When we look at the back panel, we see the identical layout, with the gradient pattern and the camera module housing four cameras and an LED flash being the most noticeable features. You’ll also see the Huawei logo, indicating that this is a Huawei smartphone. The 6.57-inch OLED display on the front is the same as on the Nova 8 5G. This display features a 1080 x 2340 resolution, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a density of roughly 392 PPI.

The Video Cameras

The Huawei Nova 8 has the same cameras as its 5G brother when it comes to cameras. On the back, the quad-camera system is the same, as are the single cameras upfront.

On the back, there’s a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 120-degree field of view. This camera’s video recording is limited to 4k. A single 32MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 is available for selfies. This camera’s video recording is similarly limited to 4k.

Hardware and software 

The processor, as stated in the introductory paragraph, is the primary differentiator between the Huawei Nova 8 and its 5G brother. In place of the Kirin 985 5G CPU, we have the Kirin 820E processor. It appears that the processors determine the connectivity strength. Whether it has 4G or 5G capabilities. The Mali-G57 GPU, which replaces the Mali-G77 GPU in its 5G sister, is also on the performance train. There’s also 8GB of RAM, 256GB of onboard storage, and a non-removable 3800mAh Li-Po battery. On the software side, the Android 10 operating system runs the EMUI 11 user interface. Please be aware that, as with other Huawei smartphones released recently, you will not be able to use Google Play services.

Connectivity 

The Huawei Nova 8 has a USB Type-C port with OTG capability, as well as low-energy Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. This Android smartphone’s internet connectivity is limited to 4G, which means it does not support 5G.

Price and Availability of the Huawei Nova 8 

The Huawei Nova 8 costs $491, which corresponds to 202,194 Naira in Nigeria, 2,966 GHC in Ghana, and 53,770 Kenyan Shillings in Kenya. On August 5, 2021, Huawei introduced the Nova 8 and made it available for purchase.
