Vivo And Zeiss Go Bokeh Mad With The New Vivo X70 Phone Series

Vivo has included four additional bokeh effects influenced by Zeiss lenses to the cameras of the new Vivo X70 series phones to commemorate their cooperation with lens expert Zeiss. According to Vivo, this and other camera upgrades, such as an improved gimbal stabilizer on the new phones, are aimed at “closing the gap between mobile and professional photography.”

The X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+ are the three models in the lineup, and this is what they’re all about.

Vivo X70 Pro+

The X70 Pro+ is Vivo’s top-of-the-line model in the new lineup, with the best camera specs. A 50-megapixel, 1/1.3-inch Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor serves as the primary camera, which is complemented by a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, as well as a 12MP and 8MP cameras. It has a new 360-degree gimbal for stability, as well as a Vivo-designed imaging processor that employs artificial intelligence to decrease noise and aid stabilization.

So, how’s the bokeh? Biotar for Zeiss’s “swirly” bokeh style, Distagon for an anamorphic view, Sonnar for a creamier and smoother style, and Planar for that traditional bokeh look to your portrait photographs are the four modes available. Vivo and Zeiss collaborated on the camera’s hardware and software. These settings are in addition to a variety of night modes and a video pro mode.

The X70 Pro+ sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus engine and a 6.78-inch screen with a 517 pixel-per-inch density and a WQHD resolution. It is made of glass with a ceramic layer around the camera module. The 4,500mAh battery supports both Vivo’s wired 55-watt fast charging and a new 50W wireless charging function that is compatible with Qi wireless chargers, according to the company. It’s also the first Vivo phone to receive an IP68 classification for water resistance.

Vivo X70 and X70 Pro

The X70 Pro is in the centre of the line, with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP wide-angle camera, as well as the same 12MP and 8MP cameras as the X70 Pro+. The press release mentions gimbal stabilization, but it’s version 3.0, not the 360-degree version found on the X70 Pro+. On the X60 Pro and Pro+, Vivo utilized version 2.0, implying that this is an update. Optical and electrical image stabilization is also included in the camera.

The X70 features a triple-camera configuration that includes a 40MP main camera and two 12MP cameras. It does, however, contain the same gimbal system as the X70 Pro, as well as all of the Zeiss bokeh effects. Both phones feature the Density 1200 CPU from MediaTek, as well as 6.56-inch screens with 120Hz refresh rates and Vivo’s 44W fast charging mechanism. Finally, Vivo’s current FunTouch OS 12 UI runs on top of Google Android on all three phones.

Price and availability

Vivo has been gradually distributing more of its smartphones outside of China, although they have yet to be formally released in the United States or the United Kingdom. The X70 series will be available in a number of countries, including India, Taiwan, and the Middle East. At the time of writing, prices had not been confirmed.
